    • Metal Craft prides itself on offering all our clients finished products, from fabrication through to powder coating. Our investment in our finishing shop provides a finished article without the need to use sub-contracting services. All in house and in total control.
    • As with all finishing, the preparation is vital. All components, where required, will go through our automatic degreasing, phosphating and drying plant. This provides the perfect adhesion characteristics for the final coating. If we manufacture the component from start to finish then we only use prime materials – mild steel in CR4, P&O and Zintec are widely used and recommended to our clients. Should the components require laser cutting, then we will use nitrogen (we generate that too!) where applicable, which prevents the cut edge from oxidising thus avoiding poor adhesion of the powder.
    • When it comes to final coating, we can offer both small to large batch runs and components of varying sizes. This is due to the equipment we have on site at Metal Craft. This ranges from a fully automatic powder spray booth with an ‘in line’ track oven through to a water back spray booth and the latest box oven.
    • We also have a large range of powders in stock. Most common standard RAL colours can be catered for, however, if our customer requires a special colour then we have a network of powder suppliers who will advise on its availability and practicality.
  • Anti-Bacterial Coating Process

We at Metal Craft are always looking at how we can improve our equipment, so you the customer benefit. Well, with this improvement you will benefit.

Our improvement was to sanitise our equipment. To give it a permanent barrier against Bacteria found in everyday life. To prevent this invisible organism from multiplying thus spreading disease and illness in both Hospitals and Catering establishments. How does it work? Sounds too good to be true? Let us explain.

The coating used is in the form of a powder coat. Either epoxy polyester or polyester, depending on your application, silver ions have been added during it’s manufacture. Once the powder has been applied to the equipment a permanent barrier now exists.

Because the silver ions are now impregnated into the coating, should one of the listed bacteria's come into contact with the coating, an ionic action takes place. The silver ions puncture the cell wall, therefore inhibits growth and the bacteria dies.

Simple but effective in the fight against infection in sensitive areas of your workplace. If the bacteria cannot grow, it cannot survive.

Our sanitised protective barrier effectively controls the growth of the following bacteria:

  • E. coli
  • Legionella pneumophils
  • Salmonella gallinarum
  • Staphylococcus aureus
  • Staphylococcus epidermidis
  • Streptococcus faecilis
  • Streptococcus mutans
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Stachybotrys
  • Aspergillus niger
  • Candida albicans
  • Penicillum funicullosum

Guarding against this spread of bacteria can only help. The product can be applied to both chrome plate and stainless steel.

In catering it can be used in such areas as sinks, food preparation tables, food pans and drawer assemblies. Hospital equipment could include A&E trolleys, surgical trolleys and all associated equipment where the control of the spread of bacteria is vital.

As an added benefit finger prints and smudges are barely visible on stainless steel and chrome finished products.

Good and valid reasons why to choose Sanitised Equipment from Metal Craft. You will not disappointed.

  • Metal treatment Iron Phosphate conversion

As with any painted surface, the finish appearance and quality of the adhesion is only as good as the initial preparation.

Pre-treatment of the substrate is therefore vital if the maximum quality and adhesion is to be maintained, hence all of our products are treated with iron phosphate.
